The Showbirds
Although LMHPC does not currently sponsor a fancy pigeon show (something we are trying to change!), some of our members participate in events sponsored by other organizations.
This organization focuses on breeding homing pigeons that have interesting or novel colors or patterns. It maintains a Facebook page for its members. If you are interesting in pigeon genetics, please follow the link above to visit their page.
Dove Releases
Although the general public tends to think of "doves" being released at weddings, funerals, commencements, and other formal ceremonies, in fact, doves are all-white homing pigeons and are trained to return to their home loft in the same way as racing pigeons.
This organization is dedicated to showing pigeons of all kinds, not just homing pigeons. It maintains a Facebook page for its members. If you are interested in learning more about fancy pigeons or would like to attend a pigeon show, please visit their page for more information.
