Pigeon Racing Champions
We're proud of our birds. These are a few of the club, combine, and other race winners breed or flown by Lansing Michigan Homing Pigeon Club members.
First Place, 2026 Gas City Races!
The club swept both races. Kal Yahya's bird AU-2026-LM-528 won the A-Race flying 172.515 miles at a speed of 1665.186 ypm. Pigeon 528 was the fastest bird in a field of 354 birds from 21 lofts across mid-Michigan in the A-Race. Dave Kunath's bird AU-2026-FOYS-23192 won the B-Race flying 164.477 miles at a speed of 1536.876 ypm in a field of 34 birds from 7 lofts.
AU-2026-LM-528 was bred and is being flown by Kal Yahya.
AU-2026-FOYS-23192 is being flown by Dave Kunath (Remy's Bird Shed). It was bred by Tim Bennett of the Frankenmuth Club and is an auction bird who will be competing in the Greater Michigan Open at the end of the season.
First Place, 2024 Gas City Race!
Leonard Forbes' bird AU-2024-LM-64164 took first place in the 09-14-2024 GMOC race from Gas City, Indiana. LM-64164 flew 159.183 miles at a speed of 1,383.48 yards per minute against a field of 430 birds from 26 lofts. This pigeon is from his Houben-based family of birds and is breeding his next generation of champions.
2023 Greater Michigan Open Combine Winners!
Khalid Yahya's young birds were the first, second, and third place finishers in the 2023 Greater Michigan Open Combine's band race. The first place bird AU-2023-LM-258 flew 361.153 miles at a speed of 1,308.756 yards per minute against a field of 675 birds. AU-2023-VITA-1159 took second. AU-2023-LM-245 took third.
