Greater Michigan Open Combine
Race Results

LMHPC Races
The LMHPC owns a truck equipped with racing pigeon baskets that will accommodate up to 500 birds. The club sponsors two sprint races for its members in advance of the old bird combine races in the spring and also ahead of the young bird combine races in the fall.
LMHPC is one of the founding members of the Greater Michigan Open Combine. The Club's members basket their pigeons as a group in Perry, Michigan, that are then loaded onto a racing trailer operated by the Frankenmuth Racing Pigeon Club Inc., of Saginaw, Michigan, and released along a race course that runs south to north at distances of up to 500 miles.
Greater Michigan Open Combine includes the following clubs:
Frankenmuth Racing Pigeon Club Inc., of Saginaw, Michigan (ARPU Code: FM)
Grand Rapids Racing Pigeon Club (ARPU Code: GRM)
Lansing Michigan Homing Pigeon Club (ARPU Code: LM)
South Central Michigan Pigeon Club (ARPU Code: SCM)
Maple City Pigeon Club (ARPU Code: APF)
Race information for the Greater Michigan Open Combine may be found on its webpage here.

Pigeon Release in Chelmsford, England
Pigeon racing remains far more popular overseas than it is here in the United States. The above YouTube video (published and owned by Jamie "Jaytee" Turner) shows the release of 20,000 racing pigeons. In our races, a few hundred pigeons are typically released.
